Full Lot Description
A pair of George IV silver chambersticks, each octofoil pan having scroll border and engraved initials, with central open-work stem rising to a conforming shape detachable nozzle, the scroll handle with quatre-foil thumb-piece and removable conical extinguisher. Hallmarked John & Thomas Settle, Gunn & Co., Sheffield 1827. Diameter of pan 14.5cm, gross weight 16.83ozt (523.6g).

Condition Report
- Both displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with their age and use
- With some fairly heavy tarnishing all over, with blackening and residues of dried polish to some areas and crevices; would benefit from a clean and polish
- Also residues of dried wax and dirt inside both sockets
- With some minor surface nicks and dints throughout and slight knocks or bashes around some edges
- With heavier scratches, scuffs and contact marks to some parts, particularly the bases and inside the sockets and nozzles
- Visible seams/cracks inside both sockets
- Further visible seams to both extinguishers with likely solder repairs
- Initial engravings heavily rubbed
- Hallmarks located to each base, with matching marks to all removable parts; rubbed in places but all still legible
- Missing snuffers
