Distinguished Flying Cross, awarded in 1943 to Squadron Leader Ernest Edwin Fitchew RAF, in recognition of gallantry and devotion to duty in the execution of air-sea rescue operations with No. 279 Squadron; mounted together in a group of seven medals comprising in order, Distinguished Flying Cross, dated 1943, India General Service Medal, George V, with single clasp 'North West Frontier 1935', named to '562095. L.A.C. E. E. Fitchew. R.A.F.', plus WWII 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Defence Medal and War Medal 1939-45, and a Royal Air Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, named to 'Act. Sqn. Ldr. E. E. Fitchew. R.A.F.'; together with the same medals in dress miniatures (the Atlantic Star miniature with Air Crew Europe clasp).
