A parcel-gilt silver Blackburn Cathedral goblet, designed to commemorate its fiftieth anniversary and consecration, the flared cup with gilded interior and raised on a stem modelled as a Madonna Lily with three open blooms, with roses around the base above a spread circular foot. Hallmarked Hector Miller for Aurum, London 1977, limited edition no. 326 of 750. Height 16.5cm, gross weight 9.56ozt (297.4g). In original fitted box.

  • Engraved to base, 'NUMBER 326 OF A LIMITED EDITION OF 750 MADE BY ORDER OF THE PROVOST AND CHAPTER OF BLACKBURN TO COMMEMORATE THE FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CATHEDRAL IN 1976 AND ITS CONSECRATION IN 1977'
  • Appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches, and tarnishing
  • With a little blackening to some areas and crevices, mainly seen on the foliate stem and roses
  • Possible small repair to the tip of a petal of one of the lilies
  • Good clear hallmarks located to the base, and further stamped AURUM
  • Box appears in good overall condition, with some minor surface marks and scuffs to the exterior and one of the metal clasps is a little damaged; interior lining in good condition with minimal wear
