As our next watch auction approaches, members of our watch department have handpicked their favourite standout lots. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just discovering the world of vintage watches, these selections showcase rare craftsmanship, enduring style, and quality. Here's a closer look at our top picks:
Lot 19 | Longines Conquest
Steven Yambo - Watch Specialist
This is a fabulous example of a vintage Longines that would be suitable for everyday use. The dial has aged beautifully and has an attractive, eye-catching appearance.
Estimate: £180 - £260
Lot 60 | Omega Constellation "Manhattan"
Nathaniel Sharpe - Junior Cataloguer
A beautiful example of a timeless (excuse the pun) and clean timepiece by Omega. The Constellation "Manhattan", in my opinion, is a great everyday watch that will always fill an empty slot in most people's watch collection. Curated in stainless steel with a Roman numeral hour marker bezel, date aperture to three and a crisp white dial. The Constellation captures minimalism to perfection whilst remaining inconspicuous.
Estimate: £200 - £300
Lot 142 | Tissot 9ct Gold Vintage Watch
William Downes-Hall - Cataloguer
Now more than ever, brands like Tissot offer exceptional value for money when buying a luxury watch, particularly when considering their vintage offerings. Back when things were made to last, Tissot was forerunners in the Swiss watch market. This 9ct gold example from the late 1940s is my pick of the auction. Dress it up or dress it down, this trusty little number will confidently escort you to any occasion. Sitting proudly anywhere, from the boardroom to the dinner party. You'd certainly be hard-pressed to find another solid gold wristwatch of this age, in this condition, anywhere else.
Estimate: £180 - £260
Lot 247 | Zodiac Kingline
Every sale always produces several stunning watches that I have never seen before. This lovely Zodiac example is in outstanding condition, given the age. The lightly brushed stainless steel case houses a high beat chronometer certified movement. Contrasting the steel, the blue ‘tuxedo’ dial is a true eye turner and is available at an unbelievable price.
Estimate: £200 - £300
