Fellows 'Goes Green'


In an effort to go green and play our part in helping the environment, we have invested in the region of £350,000 to improve the efficiency of areas within our company. We have listed some of the measures we have implemented below: 

- We have installed solar panels above our Birmingham saleroom and are able to see the amount of energy they can generate.
- We have invested in 3 company cars that are now all-electric.
- We have installed publicly available electric car charging points at our Birmingham office.
- Catalogue printing has been reduced by 70%.
- We have replaced all lighting with LED-efficient bulbs.
- Air conditioning in our buildings has been upgraded to more efficient units.
- We use recyclable packaging materials.
- Paper consumption in both offices has been reduced substantially.
- We have offered clients the chance to reduce their footprint by combining packages.

What's in our packaging?


Mailing Bags

- These are made from 100% recycled material and fully recyclable boxes.

Boxes

- These are made from at least 70% recycled material and fully recyclable.
- We use both plain and “FRAGILE” brown Kraft paper tape where we can. This paper tape is 100% recyclable and is made from sustainably sourced material.

Void Filler

- The shredded paper is made from at least 80% recycled material and is 100% recyclable.
- The loose fill chips are coloured green to easily identify their “green” credentials! They are made from 100% expanded polystyrene (EPS) material and are fully recyclable.
- The standard bubble wrap is fully recyclable. If you’re lucky enough to receive a parcel with green bubble wrap in, this green bubble wrap is made from at least 15% recycled polythene and is fully recyclable. Please bear with us why we transition to using just the green bubble wrap.

We have taken steps to make sure that Fellows is more energy-efficient and eco-friendly. We have adopted measures ranging from publicly accessible car charging points which are available to the public, to our shredded paper being 100% recyclable. We are continuing to build on our work to go green as a company and we will be introducing even more measures in the future.

Since we installed the solar panels on the roof of our Birmingham office we have helped plant a total of 92.81 trees and helped reduce our CO2 emissions by 33.88 tonnes*.
