Dr Maria Maclennan

Dr Maria Maclennan is an interdisciplinary designer and researcher with a professional background in both jewellery and forensics. She has previously worked alongside a number of high-profile organisations internationally across academia and law enforcement, deploying across the globe to help identify jewellery recovered after mass fatalities.

 

She is a regular public speaker to both design and forensic audiences alike, and her work been the subject of major profiles by The Financial Times, The Times and BBC World News. She has previously contributed to a number of national television and radio series having appeared on BBC Crimewatch, Radio 4 Live and in several cold case documentaries.

 

Maria is currently a Lecturer in Jewellery and Silversmithing at Edinburgh College of Art, part of the University of Edinburgh. Maria joined the Police Service of Scotland in 2015 and is currently their Academic Lead.
