An early 20th century 18ct gold diamond, enamel and gem-set moth brooch. The circular-shape ruby eyes, old-cut diamond collet thorax and ridged abdomen, to the green enamel and diamond point-tipped wings. French assay marks. Length 4.2cms. Weight 6.2gms.

Purchasing information
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. Partial maker's mark to the reverse of one of the wings, poorly struck, illegible. The diamonds appear bright and well matched, estimated total diamond weight 0.10ct. Individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades. Enamel has general small nicks and surface abrasion, one larger, shallow chip to the top leftmost wing panel, with slight discolouration and uneven surface. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue and on our website for Coloured Gemstones. Rubies are a well matched purplish red hue, typical inclusions including surface reaching features.
