The speakers are established experts in their respective fields and they explore the evolution of interiors through the centuries with a view to decorating a period home in the context of the 21st century. For the amateur as well as the professional, Historic Decoration events provide a forum to offer practical advice amidst magnificent surroundings.

Oliver Gerrish graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Masters in Building History in Britain. He was one of the youngest feature writers for Country Life magazine. He re-founded the Young Georgians (The Georgian Group) in 2002 and led it for fourteen years. He is a trustee of the Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust and founder of their Architecture Awards, as well a co-founder of Historic Decoration - a series of study days, talks and tours dedicated to the history of British interior design.

He is also a professional countertenor.
