Lot Description

A George IV silver folding fruit knife with engraved mother of pearl handle, hallmarked Sheffield 1828, the maker probably Joseph Law. Together with a further Georgian silver and mother of pearl folding fruit knife, two base metal fruit knives and an early twentieth century silver handled button hook, hallmarked Chester 1911. (5).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

The blades to the two Georgian examples have both worn down, the hinge on the second example is loose and does not hold straight. The handle of the button hook is dinted. Only part hallmarks to the second Georgian fruit knife. Hallmarks where present are a little rubbed but legible.
