A Belle Epoque platinum and 18ct gold diamond and ruby cluster ring, circa 1893. The marquise-cut diamond, within a calibre-cut ruby surround, to the old-cut diamond bifurcated shoulders and reeded band. Principal diamond estimated weight 1.40cts. Accompanied by red leather folder containing Certificate of Provenance. Later engraved with ownership mark of an initial 'M' beneath the Princess' Coronet. Weight 2.7gms. With associated case. The Prince of Wales (later H.M. King Edward VII) to his daughter-in-law, H.R.H. The Duchess of York (later H.M. Queen Mary) on the occasion of her wedding on 6th July 1893

Overall condition good. Surface scratches in keeping with general wear. Please refer to certificate of provenance for further details. The principal diamond is bright and lively. Estimated I-J colour, VS clarity. Small triangular-shape nick to pavilion. Minor nibbles to rubies, in keeping with age. Ring size J 1/2.
