Condition Report
A late Georgian gold foil back amethyst sentimental brooch. The oval foil back amethyst, with triple ouroboros surround, each mouth suspending either a heart, padlock or key on snake-link chain. Length 3.6cms. Weight 6.7gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches and areas of discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
- Clasp is a base metal replacement.
- Drops and charms possible replacements.
- Padlock with circular mount to reverse.
- Heart charm with pink gem, gem untested, possibly paste. Small pink gem with small chip.
- Principal gem is foil back and appears a pinky purple hu. Deterioration to the foil backing.
- Main body elecronically tests as approximately 15ct gold, chains as approximately 12ct gold and heart, padlock and key as approximately 9ct gold.
- Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
