A late Victorian 18ct gold opal and diamond cluster ring. Of marquise-shape outline, the oval opal cabochon, with old-cut diamond surround. Estimated dimensions of opal 19.7 by 9.2 by 5mms. Estimated total diamond weight 1.50cts. Stamped 750. Ring size M1/2. Weight 7.2gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
- One claw deficient to the opal setting.
- Some glue residue visible to the opal setting.
- Appears to have been recently polished.
- Possible replacement band.
- Band shows evidence of resizing.
- Diamonds well matched.
- Diamonds bright.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Diamonds generally with minor inclusions under 10x magnification. Few with small nicks.
- Opal has a whitish translucent to opaque body, with very good play-of-colour displaying a wide range of hues. Bright flashes of play of colour also visible to the reverse.
