George III silver swing handle sugar basket by Hester Bateman, the body with swag and festoon engraving, beaded rims and raised above a circular foot. Hallmarked London 1785. Height measuring 5 inches (13 cm), weight 7 ozt (221 grams).

Overall the sugar basket is in good condition commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks, tarnishing. The hallmarks positioned to the underside of the base are clear and legible, standard mark to the handle only.
