Lot Description

A Victorian silver key wind open face pocket watch by Edward Thorp, the white enamel dial having black Roman numeral hour markers and outer minute track, the case, hallmarked London 1889, with engine turned design to middle and rear, fitted with a gilt full plate fusee and chain movement signed Edward Thorp Bath, numbered 577 with verge escapement, undersprung balance, pierced balance cock and diamond end stone. Case diameter 49mm.

Open faced pocket watch, key winding manual movement is currently functioning but may require attention, dial shows a crack by the 'XII' numeral and various small marks, hands have marks and the minute hand shows slight distortion, glass has marks and small scratches, case has marks and scratches, case is also tarnished, case band and back of the case show wear, hinges show signs of wear to the corners, pendent and bow shows wear and tarnishing.
