Lot Description

Late Victorian silver mounted clock of shaped form, the sides embossed with a garden scene of a seated lady and standing gentleman, shell and scroll border, white enamel dial, the movement marked French with platform lever escapement. The case hallmarked William Comyns & Sons London 1899. Height measuring 5 inches (12.5 cm).

The clock appears in good overall condition displaying general scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Remnants of old polish visible to the recesses of the embossing. There are two dents visble to the shoulders of the back edge. Dust and debris visible to the dial, a chip is also visible to the enamel at the centre. The movement is not currently functioning. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
