Lot Description

A late Victorian key wind open face pocket watch by J.G Graves, the white enamel dial with hourly applied Roman numerals, subsidiary dial at six o'clock, outer minute track, the round case with milled band, engine turned decoration and vacant cartouche to the rear, hallmarked Chester 1899, fitted with a full plate movement with club tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 52mm. Together with a similar example. Case diameter 51mm.

Open faced pocket watch by J.G Graves, key wind manual movement is currently functioning, dial shows some marks, hands also show marks, glass has scratches, case has scratches and marks as a result of general use, case is also tarnished and shows wear to the band and the back, case band has a noticeable dent between 2 and 3 o'clock as well as a small dent at 9 o'clock, pendent and bow have marks and scratches.


Open faced pocket watch by J.G Graves, key wind manual movement is currently functioning, dial shows some visible marks, hands also show marks and appear to be differing colours, glass has scratches and marks, case has scratches and marks as a result of general use, case is also tarnished, back of the case shows wear to the engine turned decoration, pendent and bow have marks and tarnishing.
