Lot Description

A Victorian silver key wind open face pocket watch, the white dial with hourly applied black Roman numerals, bordered by a minute track, subsidiary seconds dial positioned to six o'clock, round case with milled band and vacant cartouche to rear, hallmarked Chester 1886, fitted with full plate movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 55mm. Together with base metal example.

Silver pocket watch, movement is currently functioning, dial has many light surface marks and there are patches of discolouration to the dial, hands are patchy in colour and hands show small marks, glass has light surface scratches and scuffs which are consistent with wear, metal is heavily tarnished and showing signs of wear with scratching and scuffs to case surface. Watch would benefit from a clean.

Base metal pocket watch, movement is currently, dial has many surface scratches, there are some large noticeable cracks and chips to the lower part of the dial, hands have patches of discolouration and chips to paint work, glass has many surface scratches and scuffs which is a result of use, base metal case has many surface scratches and marks as a result of use.
