Lot Description

A late George III oak and mahogany cased 30 hour painted dial longcase clock, D Blunt Northampton, circa 1800. Having a 12" square Roman dial painted with a perching bird over calendar crescent and inscribed makers name 'D BLUNT, Northampton', within gilt floral spandrels, the knopped four pillar movement countwheel striking on a bell, the case with swan neck pediment and giltwood spine finials over turned columns, short plain trunk door and plain base with reeded pilasters on bracket feet. 83.5" (212cm) high

Case - crack to one swan neck. Finials probably associated. Cracking to hood door veneer. Slight loss to top left corner of trunk door
