Lot Description

Victorian silver cruet stand of shaped oval form embossed with floral scrolls amongst shells and diaper decoration, central stem with conforming loop handle, raised on four scroll mounted bracket feet with wooden base, fitted with six original glass inserts, one deficient, three with silver mounts to include a hinge domed lidded example with associated condiment spoon.  Hallmarked William Evans London 1873. Height measuring 10 inches (25.5 cm).

The cruet stand displays general wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing and would benefit from a clean and polish. There are chips, nibbles and abrasion scratches visible to the glass bottles, one bottle in particular displays more extensive chipping and a large crack down the side of the bottle. The hallmarks overall are clear and legible. The seventh bottle is deficient and has been replaced with a vanity bottle.
