Lot Description

Two 19th century 'Grand Tour' souvenir bronzes after Giambologna, (1524-1608). Modelled as Mercury or Hermes and Fortuna, he with winged helmet (petasos) and winged heels, his left hand holding the handle of a missing caduceus, his right hand a pouch, with right leg raised, she holding onto her billowing perizonium, her left leg raised, each standing upon on a cherub mask base and Belgian black slate pedestal decorated with a bronze relief frieze of cavorting cherubs, 18.5" and 19", (47cm and 48.5cm) high respectively.
