Lot Description

A George II silver mug of plain baluster form, with scrolling leaf capped handle and standing on a circular footed base, remnants of a crest visible to the body.  Hallmarked Thomas Whipham London 1755. Height measuring 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm), weight 10.5 ozt (328 grams).

The George II mug displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Remnants of a crest just visible to the body, the silver does not feel significantly thinner in this area. Some dent to the base. The hallmarks appear clear and legible.
