Lot 200

Lot Description

Early twentieth century Scottish silver condiment set, comprising open salt, pepper pot and mustard pot with blue glass liner, each with bulbous lower body and modelled as a thistle.  Hallmarked Hamilton & Inches, Edinburgh 1927. Gross combined weight 3.39 ozt (105.4 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The three pieces all display some wear, light tarnishing and general surface marks and scratches.  There are some small surface dints and especially some noticeable dints and knocks around the rims of each piece so that they are all slightly misshapen, and there is a slightly more damaged area to the rim of the pepper.  The pepper pot has a detachable screw on flat lid, however there remains a notable gap when it is screwed on as it is no longer flat.  The hinges of the mustard pot lid are working, however it is slightly out of alignment so that there is a large gap when it is closed, especially on one side.    Slight loss of detail to decoration in places.  Some slight distortion to hallmarks in places, but all are legible.  Part hallmarks to lids.
