Lot Description

A 1920’s case silver travelling communion set modelled as a miniature goblet with IHS christogram engraving, a detachable pyx box fitted to the lid and surmounted with a Maltese cross. Hallmarked Birmingham 1921 with the maker’s mark C.B.W. Height measuring 4 ¼ inches (11 cm), weight 2.5 ozt (79 grams).

The travelling communion set displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The stem appears damaged, dented  with a small split to the silver. The interior appears gilded, worn to the goblet interior. The case appears worn, the clasp in particular not working. The hallmarks are worn but legible.
