Lot Description

Early twentieth century silver cigarette case of oblong form, decorated to the front with the flag of St George in enamel, and a personal  dedication engraving.  Hallmarked Walker & Hall, Sheffield 1915.  Measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) by 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm), gross weight 3.47 ozt (108 grams).

Cigarette case displays general wear, areas and spots of tarnishing and general surface marks and scratches.  Numerous deeper and longer scratches are visible to both sides, also various nicks/pin prick marks in the metal and some small surface dints.  There is also damage to the enamel on the flag with small pieces missing.  Hinges and clasp are in good working order.  Hallmarks are clear and legible.
