Lot Description

A late Victorian 18ct gold gem-set enamel mourning ring, the rose-cut diamond line, within a black enamel and split pearl double surround, to the foliate engraved black enamel shoulders and plain half-band. Partial hallmarks. Personal inscription to inner band "Betsy Kay, died April 21st 1884". Weight 3.5gms.

The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The band has been repaired/resized with pitting and discolouration, partially obliterating the hallmarks. The enamel has shallow chips and cracks, appears dark. The split pearls are well matched. Estimated total diamond weight 0.02ct, individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades. Ring size K 1/2.
