Lot Description

An early 20th century 15ct gold amethyst, demantoid garnet and split pearl brooch. The circular-shape amethyst collet, within a demantoid garnet and split pearl surround, to the knife-edge bar and split pearl terminals. Length 3.1cms. Weight 3.2gms.

Overall condition good. There are slight scratches to the brooch in keeping with the age of the piece. The amethyst is a medium purple with a weak to moderate saturation of colour. There is some abrasion to the facet edges of one garnet, visible with magnification. The split pearls are well matched, there is a chip to the nacre of one. The back pin and catch is secure.
