Lot 218

Lot Description

1920's silver mounted and enamel cased vanity set, comprising a small circular powder compact and two small facet sided glass bottles, one labelled 'perfume' and the other 'lavender crystals', with turquoise guilloché enamel decoration to each lid.  Silver hallmarked James Deakin & Sons (John & William F Deakin), Birmingham 1922.  Height of bottles measures 65 mm, diameter of compact measures 38 mm.

Total lot weight: No

All three pieces display general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  There is some quite heavy tarnishing visible to the silver mounts and they would benefit from a clean and polish.  The enamel appears in fairly good condition.  Some minor edge nicks to glass bottles and a larger chip visible to rim of the perfume bottle.  The hallmarks appear rubbed in places but are all still legible.  Some deterioration to case.
