Lot Description

A 1920’s silver cigarette case of oblong form, engine turned decoration and initial engraved circular cartouche, hallmarked London 1921, length measuring 4 ¼ inches (11 cm). Together with a  1930’s silver cigarette case with engine turned decoration, initial engraved cartouche and silver-gilt interior, hallmarked F H Adams & Co Birmingham 1935. Gross combined weight 8 ozt (249 grams).

The lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor dints and bumps. The smaller example is heavily tarnished. Areas of wear and loss of definition to areas of decoration. The hallmarks are clear and legible, maker’s mark to the first larger example reads A.M. & M. Co.
