Lot Description

Two early twentieth century silver enamel boxes of circular form, to include a French silver green guilloché and white enamel pillbox, together with a silver pillbox with purple guilloché enamel lid. French pillbox with French assay marks and retailers stamp G. Keller. Purple enamel pillbox hallmarked Levi & Salaman, Birmingham 1918. Diameters 1 3/4 and 1 1/2 inches (4.4 and 3.9 cm). Weight 2.04 ozt (63.5 grams). (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The purple enamel box has black discolouration. The edge of the lid is not enamelled, possible re-enamelling. The French enamel box has a tiny discoloured star crack to the top of the lid and a noticeable chip to the enamel on the side of the base, the white enamel has minor nicks and the lid feels a little loose in position.
