Lot Description
A pair of Victorian silver open salts of Neoclassical style, the oval bodies with vertical pierced decoration, wheat-ear swags, the shaped edge with beaded rim, dual ring handles and blue glass liners. Hallmarked Chawner & Co (George William Adams) London 1854. Height measuring 3 inches (7.5 cm), gross silver weight 4.9 ozt (152 grams).

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing. The base appear dented and misshaped, one in particular and does not sit flat, wobbles. One one two holes have worn through on the high embossing on the central floral decoration to each side. A few chips to the edge of the glass liners. The hallmarks almost completely worn to one and rubbed to the other.
