Lot Description

A Victorian silver key wind pair case pocket watch, the cream dial with hourly applied Roman numerals, bordered by a minute track, subsidiary seconds dial to six o'clock, round cases hallmarked  Birmingham 1847, fitted with a full plate fusee and chain movement signed Thomas Rowell, Carlisle. Outer case diameter 58mm.

Silver pair case pocket watch, movement is not functioning, balance and hairspring appear fine, there is evidence of repair work to the contrate wheel, movement shows noticeable scratches and marks screws to movement show heavy wear, dial shows discolouration and marks under inspection, hands are discoloured and marked, seconds hand to subsidiary dial is missing, glass is scratched, inner case is discoloured and scratched, hinge to inner case is functioning, bow and pendant are scratched, outer case is scratched and dented, hinge is functioning but slow to move, button to case is functioning but tough to use.
