Lot Description

A Victorian 18ct gold keyless wind open face centre seconds pocket watch signed Thomas Russell & Son, the white dial with hourly applied Roman numerals, bordered by a minute track, round case with engine turned decoration and vacant cartouche to the rear, hallmarked Chester 1898, fitted with a signed three quarter plate movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 55mm. Total weight 138gms.

Movement currently running - would benefit from a service, Stop function not working - will need disassembling to fully diagnose, some superficial scratching to movement screws, slight scratching and discolouration of hand, debris between movement and dial, dial appears in fairly good condition - would benefit from careful cleaning, glass slightly scratched, bezel case and pendant scratched and dinted from general wear, engine-turned decoration to rear worn due to wear, bow feels secure  but is showing signs of wear
