Lot 790

Lot Description

A late Victorian silver vinaigrette of oblong form, with shaped edged, foliate engraving to the front and back and a vacant shield cartouche, attached suspension loop, opening to reveal a pierced foliate grille. Hallmarked Hilliard & Thomason, Birmingham 1891. Length of case 3.7 cm, weight 24 grams.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The vinaigrette displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Some rounding of edges and corners, however the overall condition appears fairly good.  The grille is quite a tight fit but it does lift up.  The hallmarks and part hallmarks are clear and legible.
