Both vinaigrettes display general surface scratches, contact marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  More wear around the edges and corners of both and some slight loss of surface detail.  Some minor dints, bumps and nicks to both, also wear to gilding.  The hinges on the 1824 example are in working order, however it does not close tightly so that a gap is visible all the way round.  The hinges and clasp on the other vinaigrette are in working order and it closes tightly.  Some rubbing to hallmarks but they are all still clear and legible.
