Lot Description

A George III silver wine sieve, with reeded rim and detachable ring mount, engraved monogram garland and ribbon cartouche, together with a modern silver bonbon dish, the pierced lattice scalloped floral sides, raised on openwork feet, personal engraving. Hallmarked Charles Aldridge, London 1793 and Henry Clifford Davis, Birmingham 1986. Diameters 4 3/4 and 3 3/8 inches (12.1 and 8.1 cm), gross weight 5.26 ozt (163.8 grams). (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Wine funnel with small dent to bowl. Sticky label staining and glue/detritus. Monogram JCG. Wear to hallmarks and maker's mark, legible. Detachable ring with pierced holes, used to secure muslin cloth. Modern dish engraved "with love from Mark and Susan". General dirt/discolouration.
