Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver coin purse, the wedge shaped hinged purse opening to reveal a compartmentalised leather interior, with chain and finger ring, hallmarked Boots Pure Drug Company, Birmingham 1916. Together with three silver decanter labels for 'Sherry', 'Port' and 'Whisky', hallmarked Birmingham 1938, 1972/3. Width of purse 8.25 cm, weight of labels 45.7 grams. (4).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. The purse has small dents and patches of discolouration, the interior is slightly marked and creased but otherwise fine, the hallmarks are rubbed, maker's mark partially obscured. The labels are in fine condition, the whisky label has slight loss of detail, all hallmarks clear and legible.
