Lot Description

A 1930's silver cigarette case, the engine turned body with canted corners, the front case enamelled in green shaded through to pink. Hallmarked Deakin & Francis Ltd, Birmingham 1939. Height measuring 3 1/4 inches (8.5 cm), weight 3.2 ozt (102 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

The enamel appears quite heavily scratches. Minor losses to corners and some more noticeable chips across the surface to one edge. Clasp and hinge in good working order. Gilding to the interior remains bright, interspersed with spots of discolouration. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
