A Victorian silver mounted scent bottle.

Lot Description
A late Victorian silver mounted scent bottle, the blue glass body of plain cylindrical outline, leading to a silver collar and hinged lid engraved with foliate scrolls and opening to reveal a clear glass stopper. Hallmarked Birmingham 1899, with maker's mark M Bros. Height measures 3 1/4 inches (8.3 cm).

Condition Report
The item displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Tarnishing to the silver mounts, also several dints and bumps including some large ones. Hinge and clasp appear in good working order. The hallmarks appear rubbed but still legible, maker's mark is partly worn. The blue glass body displays numerous nicks, small chips and heavier scratches, also some small chips to the stopper.
