Lot Description
An Elkington & Co silver plated stand in Egyptianesque style, the openwork base modelled with two sphinxes and further mythical creatures amidst stylised foliage, with four supports rising from the centre, decorated with further foliate motifs and supporting a large cut glass bowl with shaped rim and an etched fruiting vine border. Impressed maker's marks to the underside.
Maximum height of stand measures 6 5/8 inches (16.8 cm).

Condition Report
The item is in fair to good overall condition, displaying general wear including surface scratches, marks and some tarnishing. The central fitting is a little loose and the screws may require some tightening. Impressed maker's marks to the underside are clear and legible, also with number 11595. The glass bowl is unlikely to be original to the stand. General surface scratches and marks to the glass and some minor rim and edge chips.
