Lot Description

An Edwardian silver hip flask of curved oblong form, plain in design with bayonet lock fitting to the hinged lid. Hallmarked London 1901, maker's mark partly distorted, impressed retailer's mark to the underside 'Finnigans Ltd Manchester'. Maximum height including lid measures 4 7/8 inches (12.5 cm), gross weight 5.45 ozt (169.5 grams).

In fair overall condition, the flask displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some small dints and bumps, mainly visible to the curved front and one corner. The bayonet lock fitting requires some attention as it is quite tight to close and does not lock properly. The maker's mark is partly worn, letter 'c' is just visible. The hallmarks also appear rubbed but are still legible.
