Lot Description

A selection of three late Victorian and early twentieth century silver vesta cases, each with foliate engraved motif, one with monogram and date, together with a graduated curb-link Albert chain. Gross weight 3.12 ozt (97 grams). (4).

Fair to good overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The albert chain has significant wear to most links. Length 16 inches (40.7 cm). Monogrammed vesta with shallow dents, monogrammed 'GJ, Aug 30th 98'. Hallmarked Joseph Gloster, Birmingham, 1895. Ivy leaf motif vesta hallmarked Samuel M Levi, Birmingham, 1905. Largest vesta hallmarked John Rose, Birmingham 1921, slight dent to front of case.
