Lot Description

An early 20th century gold seed, split pearl and diamond brooch. Of star-shape outline, the deficient seed pearl centre, within a rose-cut diamond border, to the openwork split and seed pearl foliate surmount, may be worn as a pendant. Length 3.5cms. Weight 7.9gms.

Condition Report

Overall condition good and fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. The central seed pearl is missing. Several split and seed pearl replacements. These are not perfectly matched. There is one dark pearl replacement which is obviously a replacement. The rose-cut diamond detail appears bright.
