Lot Description

A late Victorian silver jug of bulbous form, decorated with stylised foliate borders and gadroon decoration to the lower body surrounding a scrolled oval cartouche later engraved with a presentation inscription, foliate capped double scroll handle and the whole raised on a skirted base. Total lot weight: No

The jug appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Would benefit from a clean and polish. Some minor dints. Wear to some of the decoration so that there is loss of surface detail or definition. Tape mark across the base. Later presentation engraving to cartouche dated 1948. The hallmarks are clear and legible, some slight rubbing.
