Lot Description

An Edwardian silver swing handled basket, the foliate pierced flaring edge decorated with raised swags and flower-head motifs within a scalloped rim, the whole raised upon four ball feet. Hallmarked William Mammatt & Son, Sheffield 1906. Length measures 12 3/8 inches (31.5 cm), weight 11.56 ozt (359.4 grams).

With small dint to base of basket, and displaying general light scratches to surface commensurate with age and use. Piercing appears in good condition, although rim with slight distortion having one edge lower than the other. Maker's mark rubbed and illegible, but with matching hallmarks to handle.
