Lot Description
An Edwardian silver mounted inkwell, of domed circular form with cut-glass star base, the openwork silver mount with heart and scroll motifs leading to a hinged lid with engraved crest, hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1901, maximum height measures 2 2/8 inches (5.8 cm). Together with an Edwardian silver mounted travelling pocket watch case, the oblong form with embossed foliate decoration and easel back support, hallmarked Birmingham 1905, opening to reveal a manual wind base metal pocket watch with white enamel dial, black Roman numerals and subsidiary second dial, plus a small 1920's silver and tortoiseshell compact.

Condition Report
In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The inkwell cut-glass base has some minor nibbles and chips, slight compression to the collar, engraved with a crest of an eagle, hallmarks rubbed but still just legible. The silver mount on the pocket watch case has a vacant cartouche which has become slightly squashed, some minor holes and splits to the embossed decoration, some losses to the easel support and material back. The pocket watch is marked Avance Retard to the movements, hair line fractures to the enamel dial, movement currently functioning however Fellows cannot guarantee the working order or accuracy. The compact has a minor bump to the back, the mirror has surface marks, silver-gilt interior quite bright, heavier tarnishing around the edge of the case. Other hallmarks clear and legible.
