Lot 120

Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver epergne, the filled circular base monogram engraved and rising to a central tapered vase of lobed outline and having a flared, pierced rim with shaped edge, surrounded by three smaller matching vases on scrolled supports. Hallmarked Colen Hewer Cheshire, Chester 1915. Maximum height measuring 12 3/4 inches (32.5 cm). (A/F).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The base of the epergne appears in fairly poor condition with several splits and creases in the metal of the scrolled supports. There is some quite heavy tarnishing to all parts of the epergne and it would benefit from a clean. General surface marks and scratches and some minor dints and bumps are also visible. One of the small vases appears jammed in position. Some rubbing and distortion to hallmarks but mostly legible.
