Lot Description

A mid-twentieth century silver christening mug, of typical plain baluster form with scroll handle and engraved personal inscription, the whole raised upon a circular stepped foot, hallmarked Atkin Brothers, Sheffield 1943, height inclusive of handle measures 3 2/8 inches (8.3 cm). Together with a further smaller example with personal engraving, hallmarked Eugene Leclere, Sheffield 1953. Gross weight 8.1 ozt (254.9 grams). (2).

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The 1940's example is engraved with the name 'Judith', the smaller example is engraved with 'F.B 12-9-54'. Remnants of polish visible. Hallmarks clear and legible.
