Lot Description

A mid-Victorian silver christening mug with footed base, having beaded rims enclosing floral scroll panels and engraved monogram, with foliate capped double scroll handle, hallmarked John Tongue, Birmingham 1864, height including handle measuring 3 3/8 inches (8.6 cm). Together with a modern silver wine taster, hallmarked Edinburgh import 1996, a late Victorian silver salt spoon, London 1896, and three early twentieth century silver mounted photograph frames, hallmarks for Birmingham 1902, 1905 and 1912. Weighable silver 5.15 ozt (160 grams). (6).

All items in the lot displaying some quite heavy tarnishing and would benefit from a clean and polish. All with some general surface wear, marks and scratches. Minor dints and bumps. One of the photograph frames is in poorer condition showing heavier dents and the mount is missing fixing pins and is therefore loose. The christening mug is personally engraved to underside 'Born June 26th 1864'. Some rubbing to hallmarks but all are mostly clear and legible.
