Lot Description

A mid Victorian gold gem-set memorial ring. The ring with central red gem, a surround of four split pearls and green gems set between, to the acanthus leaf shoulders, engraved band and glazed woven hair panel. Ring size G 1/2. Weight 2.6gms.

The condition of this lot if fair to poor, with surface scratches and wear to the gold and gems in keeping with age and wear. The split pearls have some natural imperfections. The green gems have chips to them. There are two vacant collet-settings. The engraving to the band has been well worn. Evidence of resizing to the reverse, where a line is visible to the back of the band.
