A mourning ring. The early 19th century marquise-shape ivory panel, painted to depict a maiden writing in a book, to the later collet and band. Chip to glass. Band with hallmarks for Birmingham, 1957. Total weight 5.9gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>The marquise-shape ivory panel is early 19th century, combined with various later components.
<li>There is a significant chip to the glass and areas of scratches.
<li>Significant dirt beneath the glass, there is a central crack to the ivory, the painted detail is heavily worn in places.
<li>The rope-twist surround is worn.
